Fall Child Photography Nutcracker Pictures Available

Miller’s Family,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your children this past weekend, it was an honor to meet so many of your kids and capture your memories of the 2016 Nutcracker.

You can now order images online. The process should be fairly straightforward and there is a guide on the website you can watch to help you through the ordering process. If you have any questions, you can email me at fallchilddance@gmail.com or call me at 720.495.5881. Please hold off on any phone calls until Monday, I will be out of the office through the Christmas weekend.

Visit this link http://fallchilddance.pixieset.com/millersdancestudio-nutcracker/
and enter the password: jazzhands2016

Your photos are separated by section, unless you children took a photo with a friend/sibiling who were not in the same costume. Those images you can find in the “Sibling” area. All photos of the main cast (who had their photos taken the prior Saturday) are in that folder and not separated by their cast parts. Remember; if your children are older, they may have opted not to have their photos taken. If you are wondering where your child’s photos are- please check with them first if they were photographed before contacting me about missing photos.

Please note; a poster WILL be available. There is a preview of this poster, but it is not finished yet (characters need to still be moved around so everyone’s feet fit on the poster). You can pre-order the poster though this same site.

Have a wonderful holiday season!

For information contact Andra Stecklein, andstec@yahoo.com

Parents and Dancers,

I’m excited to give you a heads up on an upcoming class with Tyne! It will be held on Sunday, April 19th (sorry it had to be Sunday) at the Hampden Studio from 2:30-4:00. This class is a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The cost is $25.00 and it is tax deductible. It is completely nonprofit and all money goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society toward research. Tyne is donating her time and Miller’s is hosting this event for no charge.

Here’s some background info on why this is happening:

My former dance teacher, Sue Ellen Goss, has been fundraising and donating her time for many years to this organization and as a result has been nominated for Woman of the Year for the LLS. She has around 30 events scheduled to raise money this year! This class is only one of them. What a great way to donate and get a master class for your dancer in return!

In addition, we are trying to hold a small silent auction during the class. At this time, we have a great item donated by the Colorado Ballet for two tickets to opening night of their upcoming season! What a wonderful mother/daughter night that would be! We are also working on getting tickets to a show at the Buell as well as some smaller auction items.

Last, there is one more class being offered for any of you moms/former dancers out there that would like to join us. Many of Sue’s former students including me, still live in the Denver metro area. So Tyne is teaching a very “special” class for those of us that were Sue’s students and any other adults that would like to take. It’s from 1:00-2:00 on the same day as the student class. It will be a non threatening fun jazz class that even Miss Sue is taking! Now the recommended donation for this class is $100 because of course it really is all about the donation. But any amount will be accepted. Sue’s campaign motto is: “There’s Hope in the Numbers.”

Please print and turn in your registration form to Judy at the desk who will then give it to me.

As co-chair of this event, I am really hopeful that we can have a great turn out! Please help us support this amazing organization! And feel free to email me with any questions.

Thank you!

Andra

If your child misses class during this week, they can schedule a make-up class. Have a safe and fantastic Halloween!

A Reminder of Who We Are

We were touched and reminded of who we are here at Miller’s Dance after reading Stefanie Lein’s blog. It is and has been an honor for the Miller’s family to be able to touch the lives of so many young people with positive memories.

Every year the studio would have a recital. Every year Ernie and his wife would dance the very last dance in the show. It was a lovely and vulnerable and authentic moment. So much so that it made quite an impression on me in a time in my life when I don’t remember much detail. It was that special.

The deal is, Ernie and his wife and his beautiful daughters who taught in the studio WERE the studio.

Of course there were physical walls, and spring-loaded wood floors, and barres fastened securely to the walls. But the studio was Ernie. He created it. He carved out the space for it to exist. And he and his family populated it. They created the tone. They created the atmosphere. They created the philosophy. They lived it and breathed life into it.
