Come join the fun and sign up for the Father/Daughter dance this year. The first rehearsal will be Saturday, March 30th, 1:45-3:45, as there are no other rehearsals going on at that time. Times will be adjusted to 3:45-5:45 starting Saturday, April 13th through the end of May.

All students in levels Apprentice-Elite are invited to audition for special roles in this year’s recital, The Lion King! Auditions will be held January 13th at the Saddle Rock Studio. Please come 15-20 minutes early for your audition to get your number and warm-up. Ladies should wear a black or dark leotard and pink or white tights for ballet auditions and can add black leggings or black jazz shorts for other auditions. Please audition for all possible parts for your level, regardless of your preference.

Join us during the week of Oct 24 – 31 Halloween celebrations. We will not hold evening classes on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Students in all combo classes up to ACD can wear their costumes (as long as they can dance in them) during this week and will learn a dance during class. These students can also bring a small treat for their classmates to share. Parents are invited to attend the last 15 minutes of class to watch. If your child misses class during this week, they can schedule a make-up class. Have a safe and fantastic Halloween!

JrElite/Apprentice dancers must have 6 ballet classes (Intensive counts for 4)
Novice must have 12 classes (Intensive Counts for 6)
Intermediate thru Elite must have 15 classes (Intensive counts for 8)

Rehearsals will be held on Saturdays, starting September 23rd through December 2nd except for November 25th for Thanksgiving weekend. Rehearsal times are determined by part.

Performances:

Miller’s Dance Studio produces a full-length fall ballet yearly. Auditions are held each September for all students in more advanced ballet classes who dance year-round. Students in Kindy, Beginning Children’s Dance (BCD), Intermediate Children’s Dance (ICD), and Advanced Children’s Dance (ACD) and MDF Minis who wish to perform are automatically placed in a dance part. We strongly believe that our studio is set apart from others by offering this opportunity in our curriculum. With many more performances to experience, it provides the students with an insight to the world of ballet and gives them the history of the “ballet.”

No audition required for Kindy, BCD, ICD, ACD & MDF Minis. Dancers will be placed in parts according to class level!

Ballet Level Evaluations for our level dancers will be on Saturday, June 5th at the studio in Room A. This is to help the teachers better determine which level your dancer will be entering next year. Evaluation time based on the level you are currently in.

4:00 - 5:00 PM: Advanced A/B Group 1

For the Advanced A/B Groups, you will be receiving an email letting you know which time slot your dancer will be in. The reason we are dividing the Adv group is to lower the number of bodies inside the room.

Saddle Rock Fall Schedule

This year we will be doing a 6 week Summer Schedule. Registration will be open on Wednesday, June 24. Registration will only be accepted online on our website or through the Parent Portal. Payment must be made online. When you register, you will be charged for 4 weeks upfront. At the end of the 6 weeks, we will then charge your account for any additional classes that have been taken. We have decided to have students PreSchool through ACD remain on Zoom classes through the summer. Teachers are planning to teach these students a dance this summer that will be performed either on Zoom or in the studio in their recital costumes. We are planning to bring them into the studio for classes this fall if circumstances will allow it. All dancers Apprentice through Elite will be dancing in the studio and on Zoom for this 6 week summer session.

Please look at our website for our Covid 19 Phased opening. We will be moving into Phase 3 this summer. We will strictly follow the rules for health, face masks, hand sanitizing, social distancing and cleaning protocols.

For our advanced dancers, sharpen up your dance skills for the Fall Ballet with our Ballet Dance Intensive camps.

We are excited to announce that SESSION 2 classes online in the “ZOOM” format for Preschool, Kindy, Beginning Child’s Dance, Intermediate Child’s Dance and Advanced Child Dance and Apprentice Level (Hampden only) levels starting Monday, May 25th, for four weeks. These classes will include ballet, tap, tiny jazz, hip hop and lyrical. There will be a meet-and-greet at the beginning of each class between the teacher and the students. You are welcome to attend any of the Zoom classes offered pertaining to your level, no matter the teacher. Example: If you are in Preschool, you can come to any of the Preschool class times offered throughout the week. Also included in Session 2, along with the zoom classes, most classes will be getting the recital dance break down videos. At this time we couldn’t get the 5-9 yr olds, Fresh Prince Hip Hop one done because there are too many dancers with too many different parts.

With the times for social gathering being so unpredictable right now we wanted to keep our dancers engaged and dancing. We have a few ideas we are working on to continue offering dance instruction to our kids and keeping some normalcy in their lives We hope to have some of these ideas in place over the next few days. Ladies should wear a black or dark leotard and pink or white tights. Black jazz pants or tight black jazz shorts can be worn for tap and jazz auditions. Fall ballet long sleeve shirts will soon be available at the studio for purchase!! Sizes run from Child Sizes (SC through LC) and Adult Sizes (SA through XXLA) for $24 (tax included).

We are offering our very popular summer dance camps again this summer. Each day we will be doing a different theme so everyday will be a new adventure of fun and exciting dance. Each camp includes dance instruction, crafts, and a lot of fun!

Miller’s Dance Studio is excited to present the Sleeping Beauty Ballet! Auditions will be held Saturday, September 15 at the Hampden Studio for all dancers Apprentice Level through Elite. This performance opportunity is open to all dancers who attended ballet classes and camps throughout the summer.

Dancers Kindy level through ACD are welcome to sign up to participate in the ballet - no audition or summer dance requirements for this age range.

Auditions for Beauty and the Beast will be held at the Hampden Studio on January 27. All students in levels Apprentice-Advanced are invited to audition for special roles in this year’s recital. Dancers should audition for all possible parts for your level, regardless of your preference.

Times:

Ladies should wear a black leotard and pink tights for ballet auditions and can add black leggings or shorts for tap and jazz auditions. Gentlemen should wear a plain white t-shirt and black shorts/workout pants. All hair should be off of the face and secured.

Auditions for special parts will be held Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Hampden Studio location. Students in levels Apprentice to Elite are invited to audition for special roles.
