Sabrina Talks Dance

INTRODUCTIONS
by Sabrina Miller Helma

Sabrina Miller Helma

Welcome to another exciting year of dance!  I hope that you enjoy our new and improved web site.  If you have any problems maneuvering around the site, please write me so that we can better serve you.  I will be using this blog to discuss topics that are important in your child’s training. If you have a subject you would like to discuss, I would also welcome your suggestions through out the year. This will help me stay in touch with your needs and concerns and hopefully I can better serve you.  I hope to do a new blog every month.  We will discuss for example, dance areas such as pointe.  When your child starts preparing for pointe, the costs related to it, the importance of training etc.  If you have a topic you would like to discuss, please let me know.

I am excited about my 30th year in the dance business.  I have loved dance all of my life but I never dreamed that Miller’s would be what it is today.  I also never thought that I would get this “old” to have children of the children I taught coming to my studio for dance.  I knew at a very young age of 12 that dance is what I wanted to do and I have never strayed from that idea.  My parents showed me such rewards in teaching children and adults the art of dance and it has enriched my life in so many ways.  I have to say that I love what I do and feel blessed that I can do something that I have always loved and enjoyed.  I love to watch these children grow into beautiful dancers and human beings.  Dance teaches them grace, movement, but it also teaches them so much more.  They gain confidence, self esteem and discipline.  I can’t tell you how many parents tell me that their child is so directed from being in dance.  They are usually very good students because they learn to budget their time.  They also learn respect for their teachers, teammates, and others in their classes.  Dance is a great addition to all of us!

Hi Sabrina,
Both my daughters are taking dance classes at Miller and it has made me want to return to taking some classes myself! I would especially be interested in ballet and jazz.
All the best,
Heidi
